Common Issues:
Teens and young adults often feel confused and overwhelmed by emotions, thoughts, peer pressures and parental expectations. These confusing feelings and thoughts can lead teens to be moody, to withdraw and isolate, to engage in power struggles and and to make impulsive decisions. Peers and adult relationships can feel confusing and demanding. Developmentally the task of adolescence is to separate from the parent. Having a neutral person to talk with can help the teen process and understand their inner and outer worlds. This insight can improve decision making, depression, impulsivity and self-esteem.
